Four miles away the town of Miltown Malbay is famed for its traditional Irish music, it is home to the Willie Clancy music festival, which is held in July, however visitors will find fabulous live music in many pubs and bars whatever the time of year. Quilty with it's miles of excellent beaches is perfect for long sea walks. It is close to some excellent beach /surf resorts including Spanish Point and Doonbeg, both of which are well worth a visit for great surf. Here you can hire boards or take surf lessons.
Three major golf courses are within 15 minutes drive.
The Burren National Park, a few miles to the north, is a mecca for walkers and nature lovers with its unique karst landscape and rich colourful wildflowers.
